Your packing list
We feel that it’s important to carefully plan your trip to make your recovery after FFS surgery in Belgium a little easier.
- Adapter — For patients from the UK or the USA, you will want to bring an appropriate adapter for the use of your electrical equipment.
- Entertainment — Feel free to bring personal entertainment items such as a laptop, music, books, journals, crosswords, etc. There will be satellite TV with Netflix at your disposal in your room. The first few days after surgery you will probably spend most of the time resting.
- Personal items that make you smile — stuffed animals, Bible, family pictures, etc.
- Comfortable clothes and pajamas — Some patients walk around in pajamas the entire week after surgery, and that is absolutely fine! Avoid clothes with a tight-fitting neck. Items with zippers that don’t have to pass over the head are the easiest. Comfort before fashion is the key to your clothing selection.
- Concealer — Patients still have bruises after 1 week. You need a good concealer if you'd like to be able to cover your bruises.
- Scarf — If you want to take a walk around the block or go to the nearby park, and when returning home, a scarf might come in handy to cover the face and make you feel more comfortable.
- Sunglasses — These come in handy as well to hide swollen or bruised eyes.
- Your glasses — If you wear contact lenses and you have surgery done around the forehead and eyes, it is possible that you will not be able to wear them after surgery. So bringing your glasses would then be a must. Wearing contacts during the surgery is also not allowed!
- Spare pyjamas — Some fluid loss from places incisions were made is common once you start moving around. Take some spare pajamas with you. Especially when you have a body liposculpture procedure, as there will be during the first 24 hours.
- No blender — We have one in the guesthouse, don’t bother to bring one. We also provide food that has been selected for easy ingestion after surgery.
- Slippers — As to be safe during your stay. The floors can be a bit slippery if you're only wearing socks. Bear in mind your vision might be compromised for a while due to surgery. Make sure the slippers are closed, or they might be a safety hazard.
